We urge all of us to remain in peace and cohesion in Kenya, we have been dividing ourselves along political lines which in many occasions take tribal angles and political hating temperatures. It is our humble prayer that we are not going to allow ourselves to be divided by political rhetoric’s that send us to our tribal cocoons for we cannot thrive alone as tribes or communities or families or individuals. We can only thrive when we do work together, encourage one another, fellowship and worship together and become one nation of Kenya. As Religious Leaders we encourage peace and cohesion among our public officers. We urge all public officers and political leaders to exercise and project mutual respect of the different institutions. We encourage a sense of harmony among the three arms of government while maintaining independence of each as prescribed in the doctrine of separation of power. Interfaith Leaders are disseminating peace messages, hope and urging Religious Leaders not to allow the use of the pulpit for hate speech and divisive politics. The leadership of the main faith communities in liaison with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and National Steering Committee on Peace Building (NSC) have also signed a peace declaration against the use of religious platforms to disseminate divisive and hateful messages and uphold Peace.
